The English Gentleman goes to Lord’s

The bespoke tailors of Savile Row have joined forces with the gentlemen’s houses of St James’s to present The English Gentleman at Lord’s for next month’s Spring/Summer ’14 London Collections: Men.

The event will take the form of a live presentation featuring models and selected customers and denizens of Savile Row and follows on from January’s acclaimed The English Gentleman at Spencer House (pictured), which was attended by over 400 international members of the press and menswear buyers.

Participants in The English Gentleman at Lord's will be dressed by the tailors of Savile Row and requisites houses of St. James’s and Mayfair. Over seventy outfits will be on display, comprising garments ranging from cricket sweaters and summer sports jackets and blazers to lightweight suits and flannel waistcoats and trousers.

Each of the looks will encapsulate the modern face of classic British menswear and showcase the best of British materials – principally fine woolens – and craftsmanship.

All of this will be set against the stunning backdrop of Lord’s cricket ground, the spiritual home of the most elegant and quintessentially English of games.

The English Gentleman at Spencer House has been devised , produced and co-sponsored by Anda Rowland and her esteemed team at Anderson & Sheppard and will be styled by Jo Levin, Creative Fashion Director of British GQ. The event is presented in association with The Woolmark Company and Chivas.

The Savile Row Bespoke Association members taking part in The English Gentleman at Lord’s are: Chittleborough & Morgan; Dege & Skinner; Gieves & Hawkes; Hardy Amies, Henry Poole & Co.; H Huntsman & Sons; Kilgour and Richard James.
