Coronation Festival

SRBA members and Royal Warrant of Appointment holders Dege & Skinner, Henry Poole & Co and Gieves & Hawkes represented Savile Row at July’s Coronation Festival, HM The Queen’s four-day long celebration of the best of British craft and Royal Warrant holders that was held in the gardens of Buckingham Palace.

Gieves’ stand was particularly impressive, showcasing over two-hundred years of work it has produced as a Royal Warrant holder – the residents of No. 1 Savile Row received the first of the many Royal Warrants they hold in 1809.

William Skinner, Managing Director of Dege & Skinner, commented: “The Coronation Festival exceeded all our expectations. Hugely enjoyable for all concerned, it proved to be an extremely worthwhile exercise in terms of business, as wel as enhancing our family firm’s reputation domestically and internationally.

“We’ve had existing and new customers come through the doors of 10 Savile Row since the Festival ended, with a number appointments scheduled to see other people we met in the grounds of Buckingham Palace at home in their native countries.”
