Savile Row Street Party

Savile Row rocked on Thursday as The Savile Row Bespoke Association (SRBA) and The Pollen Estate came together and threw a memorable street party to celebrate the completion of the public realm works and highlight the wealth of talent on our celebrated street.

The Row was closed to traffic as the employees, clients and friends of each tailoring house gathered to enjoy music, canapés and, courtesy of Berkeley Square Gin, drinks.

An initiative of the Westminster Council-led Savile Row Strategic Group (of which the SRBA and Savile Row's landlords The Pollen Estate are members), the works have seen the Row improved with a smart new carriageway, wider pavements and silver granite parking pads. The aim was to enhance the overall elegance of the street, highlight the lower-ground floor bespoke tailoring workshops and rationalize traffic flow and waiting and loading.

Speaking on the evening, Angus Cundey, the chairman of Savile Row elder statesman Henry Poole & Co, said: “The SRBA felt this was an ideal opportunity for a party to not only celebrate the completion of the works, but also the young craftsmen and craftswomen of Savile Row who continue to invigorate this historic part of London with their vision and sartorial talent.”
