Savile Row at London Craft Week

Five members of the Savile Row Bespoke Association (SRBA) will be flying the flag for our famous street at the second annual London Craft Week, which starts today.

SRBA members Dege & Skinner and Huntsman and associate member Kathryn Sargent are taking part in How to Buy: The Bespoke Suit on Savile Row, in which Andy Barnham and Rupert Watkins of Riddle magazine take visitors on an intriguing tour of Savile Row, pointing out exactly what to look for in a bespoke suit with regards to cut, drape, material and detailing.

Patrick Grant of SRBA member Norton & Sons will be discussing the ins and outs of designing and developing new tweeds with Brian Hinnigan of Johnstons of Elgin, and fellow SRBA member and elder statesman of the Row Henry Poole & Co. (pictured, right, being visited at last year's first London Craft Week by HRH the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall) will offer an in-depth look at the dinner suit - which it invented for the Prince of Wales in 1865 - and the processes of making it.

London Craft Week showcases the best craftsmanship from around the world through a programme of over 130 events that include interactive workshops, demonstrations and behind-the-scenes open days at various studios, galleries and ateliers.
