The English Gentleman at LC:M

The sumptuous surrounds of Spencer House provided the perfect venue for Savile Row’s contribution to London Collections: Men.

Nine members of the Savile Row Bespoke Association were amongst those that joined together with London’s best shirt makers and hatters to effortlessly demonstrate that London remains the world capital of classic masculine style.

In a remarkably atmospheric and intimate production that was devised and organised by Anda Rowland and her team at Anderson & Sheppard and styled by GQ’s creative fashion director Jo Levin, the seven glorious state rooms of Spencer House played host to over sixty men, each of them immaculately dressed by Savile Row’s tailors.

The clothes ranged from shooting and fishing outfits to Black and White tie, taking in chalk-stripe lounge suits, winter overcoats and smoking jackets.

The exhibition also showcased some beautiful materials and fabrics, capturing the heritage of British weavers and their workmanship. Fine woollens were prominent throughout and thanks should be paid to The Woolmark Company for making the exhibition possible.

The Savile Row Bespoke Association members that took part were: Anderson & Sheppard; Dege & Skinner; Gieves & Hawkes; Hardy Amies; H Huntsman & Sons; Henry Poole & Co; Kilgour; Meyer & Mortimer and Richard James. Special thanks should be paid to Anderson & Sheppard for organising and co-sponsoring the event.
