Art In Mayfair

Art replaces the classic cars of Savile Row Concours on our street this month, with a number of Savile Row Bespoke Association (SRBA) members taking part in Art in Mayfair.

A collaboration between Bond Street and the Royal Academy of Arts, Art in Mayfair sees a wealth of artists working together with shops and other local businesses to create a series of stunning window displays, in-store events and exhibitions.

SRBA members taking part in Art in Mayfair include Anderson & Sheppard (which has partnered with Ben Brown Fine Arts), Dege & Skinner (which has a piece by the artist Ray Richardson in its window, pictured, middle), Kathryn Sargent (which is exhibiting The Platinum Queen by Carne Griffiths, pictured, bottom), and Richard James (which is showing a series of sculptures by David Begbie, pictured, top).

The Platinum Queen by Carne Griffiths is one of an edition of 70 prints created to celebrate 70 years of Her Majesty's reign. The original piece was painted in ink and tea with fluorescent pink acrylic and platinum leaf and diamond dust details.

Kathryn Sargent and Carne Griffiths go back a number of years to when Carne was a draftsman at M. Hand and Company, gold lacemen and embroiderers, and Kathryn was serving an apprenticeship at Gieves & Hawkes. They worked on numerous projects together and it is fitting that they have come together again to take part in Art in Mayfair.

Art in Mayfair runs until 31st July.
