Happy Birthday Dege & Skinner

A very happy birthday to Dege & Skinner, which is celebrating its 160th year.

As a family-owned house and Savile Row’s first and only in-house bespoke shirt-maker, Dege holds a special presence amongst us, embodying both the spirit and style that define our street.

The company is currently led by Managing Director William Skinner (pictured, top), the fifth generation of Skinners to enter into the bespoke tailoring trade, while Chairman Michael Skinner - who led the house when it became a founding member of the SRBA in 2004 - also celebrates a milestone this year - his 90th birthday.

This year has also seen Dege granted a Royal Warrant of Appointment to His Majesty The King to continue to make military uniforms for the Royal Household.

And, working steadfastly to safeguard the future of our community, Dege continues to invest in training, with four apprentices currently employed across the cutting, coat-making and shirt-cutting departments at their premises at No. 10 Savile Row.

To mark its 160th anniversary, Dege has released a limited collection of suiting cloths woven in collaboration with Marton Mills in Yorkshire and shirting cloths developed with Italy’s Albini Group (pictured, bottom), which were inspired by designs from the historic Thomas Mason archive.
