Savile Row in Mayfair, London is internationally associated with the finest English tailoring. The first tailors moved onto the street in the early 19th century and by the start of the 20th century it was the undisputed style setter for the elegant man. Patrons have included every crowned member of the British Royal Family from George III to HRH The Queen, as well as HRH The Duke of Edinburgh and HRH The Prince of Wales. Other clients past and present include international royalty, the aristocracy, industrialists, actors, musicians and politicians. Junius Morgan, J.P. Morgan’s father was one of the street’s first American customers, having first visited Savile Row in 1854. Morgan was followed by other leading families, and soon the Lorillards, Vanderbilts, Astors and Whitneys could be counted amongst the Row’s esteemed alumni.

The Savile Row Bespoke Association was established 2004 and is dedicated to protecting and promoting the practices and traditions that have made Savile Row the acknowledged home of the best bespoke tailoring and a byword for unequalled quality around the world. It places a strong emphasis on apprenticeship training and development to secure the future of the Row and its reputation for craftsmanship.
