We are delighted to announce that Su Thomas has joined the Savile Row Bespoke Association as its first Director. Su has been deeply involved with training on Savile Row – not least in implementing and co-managing the highly successful SRBA sponsored pre-apprenticeship course at Newham College – and is well known to the members of the SRBA and many on

Kilgour cutter Del Smith returned to one of the most memorable and enduringly elegant appearances on film for inspiration for this pair of bespoke evening tails. Eleven young cutters were awarded their Savile Row Bespoke Association’s Apprenticeship Certificates at the Master Tailors’ Benevolent Association’s summer party on Friday, 6th July. SRBA technical committee Chairman Philip Parker of Henry Poole & Co provided the introduction to the awards ceremony held at the Merchant Taylors’ Hall, acknowledging the impressive achievement of those who had successfully completed their apprenticeships,

Savile Row was the scene of an appropriately well dressed protest yesterday morning as scores of supporters of The Chap magazine’s campaign against Abercrombie & Fitch moving into the street assembled to voice their concerns. The American teenage clothing retailer intends to open a children’s clothing emporium at 3 Savile Row, the listed former headquarters of The Beatles’ Apple Corps.

  The BBC’s Young Tailor of the Year for 2102 is Savile Row Bespoke Association member Dege & Skinner apprentice Emma Martin. Announced on BBC3 television on Sunday 5th February, the award forms a part of the BBC’s ‘Britain’s Best’ series, which identifies the cream of young British talent working in such diverse, traditional trades as farming, baking and carpentry.
