Brian started out on Savile Row as a junior sales assistant at Row stalwart and SRBA founding member H Huntsman & Sons before progressing to shirt cutting and, finally, the position of Managing Director. Dugdale Bros & Co celebrated its 120th anniversary on 12th September with a history-honouring dinner at its imposing Victorian headquarters on Northumberland Street in the centre of Huddersfield. Still family owned, Savile Row Bespoke Association associate member Dugdale Bros is the last luxury cloth merchant to remain in the centre of Huddersfield, which is the home of Britain’s fine worsted

Our deepest condolences go to the family and friends of Gareth Crowe, who sadly passed away last week. Gareth was a textile agent par excellence and a much-loved presence on Savile Row. His career in the tailoring trade started 55 years ago at the age of 16 in a tailor’s shop in Cork Street where his duties were trimming, undercutting

Our congratulations go to Kathryn Sargent, who has become the first female tailor to open a bespoke tailoring house on Savile Row. The Associate Member of the Savile Row Bespoke Association (SRBA) opened for business at number 37 Savile Row on Wednesday, becoming the first female name ‘above the door’ in the 213-year history of tailoring on our famous street.

The Savile Row Bespoke Association (SRBA) is delighted to be able to confirm further details of the apprenticeship initiative it has developed in association with tailoring companies throughout the UK. The new Bespoke Tailoring and Cutting Level 5 Diploma forms a part of the Government ratified Trailblazer training scheme and will commence at colleges throughout the UK at the start
