Happy birthday Richard James! The founding Savile Row Bespoke Association member celebrates its twenty-first anniversary and twenty-first year of doing business on the Row this year. SRBA members and Royal Warrant of Appointment holders Dege & Skinner, Henry Poole & Co and Gieves & Hawkes represented Savile Row at July’s Coronation Festival, HM The Queen’s four-day long celebration of the best of British craft and Royal Warrant holders that was held in the gardens of Buckingham Palace. Friday 5th July saw the 2013 SRBA Apprenticeship Certificates awarded at the British Tailor’s Benevolent Association (BTBA) Summer Ball at the Merchant Taylors’ Hall. The Savile Row Bespoke Association (SRBA) has won some valuable concessions from Abercrombie & Fitch (A&F) regarding the chain store’s plan to open a children’s clothing store on Savile Row. The Planning Inspectorate announced on 21st March that it has allowed an appeal from the American clothing chain to make changes to the Grade II* listed building at no. 3
